Green tea contains substances known as catechins. Catechins have the ability to aid the liver to burn fat at a faster rate. Green tea also aids in weight loss by providing the drinker with an energy boost. A study performed by the Kao Corporation of Japan concluded that catechins from drinking green tea may be used to prevent and improve obesity.
