How to Make your Feet Beautiful

Many women say they hate their feet.  They are embarrassed to show them because they may be dry and scaly, or they may have terrible looking toenails.

In the summer, it’s especially important that feet look good, so they can be shown off bare or in sexy strappy sandals.  There are several things you can do to make your feet beautiful, so there’s no need to hide them anymore.  Just a little loving care can make all the difference in the appearance of your feet, and you will feel absolutely pampered as you accomplish more beautiful feet!

Soak your feet

Whenever you get some free time, preferably in the evening when work and all your household chores are done, take some time for yourself and treat yourself to a relaxing foot soak.  Use very warm water and whatever type of soap you like.  You can use bath gel or special foot soaks, or you can choose just a few drops of aromatherapy oils.  There are many to choose from, and they are all wonderful.

If your feet are aching, put three to six drops of either rosemary, peppermint or lavender in a bowl of water.  Just soaking for ten minutes will refresh your feet.

Massage your feet

Another great thing to do for your feet is to massage them.  Rubbing them gently all over with any type of massage oil will help soothe aching, tired feet.  Spend time on each toe, the balls of your feet, the heels, soles, and ankles.

Pamper them with healing crème and socks

After soaking, if you are getting ready for bed, use a healing foot crème such as Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Crème with Vitamin E.  Rub it all over your feet to prevent dryness, cracked and rough skin, and then slip on a pair of socks.  In the morning, you will notice how much softer your feet feel.  Do this every night until your feet are silky smooth.  (You will also enjoy the wonderful coconut smell of this crème.)

Once your feet have improved, there’s no need to do this every night.  You can probably get away with it once or twice a week, maybe more in the cold weather.

To pedicure or not

Most everyone loves a pedicure (even men), and you can spend money at a nail salon or do it yourself at home.  If you do it at home, start with a good soaking, trim your toenails, and use a file to take away any rough edges.  If you have calluses or dry patches, you should use a pumice stone on them.

Make sure your feet are dry before you polish your nails.  You can use a clear polish or go wild with any color you like.  When you’re through and the nails are completely dry, use some lotion on your feet, and you’ll be ready to go.

Most women want to make their feet beautiful, especially in the summer when they wear sandals or go barefoot a lot; but there’s every reason to take care of them all year round, whether they will be seen or not.  And once you get them to the point where you feel you don’t have to hide them anymore, you will want to continue with their upkeep.
