Nail Varnish Remover

Boots Nail Polish Remover comes in a 250 ml plastic bottle which is white but transparent enough to see the level of the liquid in it. It has a dark pink cap which seals well. It is easy to open the bottle and when you open it you can see that the bottle has no pourer at all so you can easily pour it on a cosmetic pad.

This nail varnish remover contains acetone and this can be felt on its smell. So when you open the bottle the very characteristic acetone smell will hit you. Take care not to use it close to babies and children as acetone is quite dangerous for them. I try to remove my nail varnish when my kids are sleeping then I pour water on the cosmetic pad and I clean it before throwing it to the bin. Then I open the doors to let the smell of acetone go out of the house. In the summertime I do all this process outside.

The liquid in the bottle has similar texture to the water and is slightly purple coloured. I think as it contains acetone it is the most effective nail varnish remover. It works quickly and it is quite gentle to my nails. I have my own nails so I don’t have to take care about whether it fits my false nails or not but as far as I know it is not suitable due to the acetone content.

You can buy this nail varnish remover in Boots shops and online at site for 1.39 pounds which is an average price. You can collect 4 extra points for it now on your Boots Advantage Card.

The nail varnish remover is very flammable so keep it away from fire and cigarettes. You can use it for 30 months after you first opened the bottle. As I have experienced in case of regular use it won’t last so long but it will be enough for at least 6 months. You have to close the bottle very well because the acetone will evaporate from the bottle and the remaining stuff won’t remove your nail varnish.

The ingredients are: acetone, aqua, ricinus communis oil, linseed acid, triethanolamide, denatonium benzoate (bitrex), CI 60725.

I think this is a basic nail varnish remover which is naturally not the most pampering one available on the market but it does its job quickly and efficiently. I buy this nail varnish remover because I don’t like to spend a lot of time on cleaning my nails with 2-3 cotton pads because of pampering but not efficient solvent. I rather use cream on my hands to moisturise my skin and my nails than an acetone free nail varnish remover. I recommend this nail varnish remover only for those who don’t have false nails.
